[That he's actually in her room isn't lost on her either, but in the heat of the moment, thinking they were in danger, she doesn't think think about it. Now that he's confirmed that they were safe, she feels almost dumbfounded... and he had called her Angela. That was enough to tell her that there was something else to this visit besides pre-operation jitters.]

Is everything all right? If you're having doubts, we could reschedule...

[This wasn't the Genji she knew. Even though he had calmed down considerably since their early days together, he was always intent on keeping his walls up around her. Which had been for the best, she knows. Seeing him here and him actually talking to her... he barely said anything, but she felt overwhelmed.

What he says next causes her eyebrows to briefly knit in confusion before the meaning of his words hits her unexpectedly hard. Only months ago she would have thought he was talking about a mission, and she would have to remind Reyes that he would need some time to rest after the operation, but...

Genji wasn't the only one. Just earlier today Angela had received her third resignation letter this week. People were scared, tired, disillusioned. She knows for Genji it was different- he was not as angry as he was when they first met, but crippling the Shimada clan had not been the balm he had hoped it would be. The only aid he accepted was hers, and she could not give him the help he truly needed.

She immediately wants to come up with excuses- he has to give his body time to adjust, travelling could cause an extra amount of stress, but... cybernetics had improved since his first surgery. It had been one of her selling points, that the recovery time would be drastically shorter if all went well. She can remember how chipper she had sounded when she had said it could even take less of a day; at most, he would be sluggish with some minor pain.

She knows she's doing an awful job at hiding the hurt on her face as she leans back against the edge of her desk. As his doctor, she should be gently scolding him for thinking he could just walk off with Overwatch's money like that. But she can't bring herself to do it.]

Oh. I see. [Her voice is surprisingly quiet. She pushes a hand through her hair as she tries to gather herself.] You're not the only one leaving... it will hurt, you know. I can't... I can't prescribe you the right painkillers if you leave.
